Step into the prehistoric footprints of the dinosaurs who once roamed New England and Eastern Canada and try out the methods scientists used to study them. Discover what might have walked in your backyard as you use a magnetic trackway to tell dinosaur stories, run as fast as a dinosaur--even run your hands over a real-life dinosaur footprint. Cosmic Collisions - Spectacular New Planetarium Show

A spectacular new space show, Cosmic Collisions, blasts into the EcoTarium on Saturday, February 16, 2008. Narrated by award-winning actor, director, and producer Robert Redford, the film will be showing in Massachusetts' only digital planetarium, the new Alden Digital Planetarium. Featuring stunning images from space and breathtaking visualizations based on cutting-edge scientific data--many seen for the first time--the dazzling new Cosmic Collisions reveals the explosive encounters that shaped our solar system.
Audiences will feel the ground shake beneath them!

The Zula Patrol: Mission Weather Exhibit

Enter the wonderful world of Zula! Based on the popular PBS animated children's series, The Zula Patrol, this engaging exhibit explores the strange and wild world of weather. Climb into climate tents featuring temperature extremes from very cold to steaming hot, touch a real cloud and replicate the sounds made by wind and rain using classic movie sound machines. Special opening event Saturday, June 7, 12:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. with free Zula giveaways and fun activities. Come meet the character Professor Multo!

The Zula Patrol invades Worcester for the New England premiere of their new space show at the Alden Digital Planetarium. Take a rollercoaster ride across the universe with the lovable, wacky cast of alien characters from the award-winning PBS series, The Zula Patrol, while learning about astronomy and weather. Ride along with the Zula Patrol as they try to save the solar system's weather from interplanetary villain Dark Truder. Encounter the strange and wild weather of planets--including ours. The Zula Patrol award-winning public television series for kids and the related exhibit and dome show were created by Zula USA, LLC.

Enjoy storytime, craft activities, live animals and more--all for little ones aged 3 and under. New themes every week!
Please note: Due to the popularity of the program, we have a new format! There will be two identical 1/2-hour sessions for the story and animal program. The craft time will be ongoing. Please pick up a ticket for your session at the Information Desk when you arrive at the museum.
Session one (story and animal): 10:30 a.m.
Session two (same story and animal): 11:00 a.m.
Drop-in craft time: 10:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m.

Sky Watch- Double Stars

- $10 non-members, $8 EcoTarium and Aldrich Society members, $6 children (7-16)
Members of the award-winning Aldrich Astronomical Society, Inc. will be your
guides on an exciting trip through the galaxy using telescopes (weather
permitting). Program starts in the Alden Digital Planetarium promptly at
7:00 p.m. and takes place rain or shine; in case of cloudy skies, the entire
presentation will take place in the planetarium. Light refreshments served.

Great Pumpkin Fest

The EcoTarium and radio stations WXLO, Oldies 98.9 and The Pike team up
again to bring another creative display of hundreds of carved, lit pumpkins
and lots of Halloween family fun to Worcester. The museum and grounds will
be open for exploring exhibits, enjoying hayrides, train rides, kids'
costume parades, holiday-themed games, Guitar Hero, digital planetarium
shows and much more. Children are encouraged to come in friendly costumes.
