Thirteen 5th grade teachers from six schools (Rice Square, Roosevelt, City View Discovery School, Lake View, Grafton Street and Adams Street) in Worcester's North Quadrant collaborated with the EcoTarium in creating a new curriculum between 2001 and 2004.
Summary
In this collaboration, thirteen 5th grade teachers from Worcester's North Quadrant developed a curriculum based upon neighborhood ecosystems. This curriculum incorporated inquiry-based learning and testing of lessons in the classroom. EcoTarium staff members faciliated the curriculum development and revision by conducting workshops on inquiry-based instruction.
