200 YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF THE ECOTARIUM HONORED BY THE WORCESTER REGIONAL CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

Worcester, MA, March 8, 2025 – The Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce recognized the EcoTarium’s 200th Anniversary with a “Chamber Salute” at Thursday’s breakfast meeting. EcoTarium Corporator Che Anderson highlighted the Museum’s ongoing contributions to science and nature education in Worcester and across Massachusetts.

Chamber President & CEO Tim Murray presented the recognition to representatives of the EcoTarium’s Board of Trustees and staff.  EcoTarium President and CEO Noreen Smith said, “As the oldest cultural institution in the City of Worcester, the EcoTarium has played an important role in the City’s history educating the public about science and nature. The Museum is hosting a number of exciting bicentennial events to celebrate with the community.”

The Museum’s next special event is the “Change the World Celebration” on the evening of April 5, 2025 to support the development of an early childhood exhibit in memory of Anthony Putnam of Grafton, MA. Tickets may be purchased on the website at https://ecotarium.org/event/change-the-world-celebration/.  The EcoTarium held a Noon Year’s Eve celebration to begin the bicentennial year, installed a stunning new mural mosaic developed with the help of hundreds of community members, and launched a Worcester Lyceum Symposium Series with the first session held last week at the Worcester Public Library.
