Come see Socks the Fox as we celebrate National Fox Day and learn some pawesome fox facts! There will be fox-themed education programs, tabletop activities, and fox keeper chats throughout the day! Fox day is not only meant to celebrate these amazing animals but also to bring awareness to some of the issues they can face in the wild. Any donations collected that day will go straight to Socks and his care!

11:00 am – Fox Chat
Get up close and personal with Socks, the EcoTarium’s resident red fox, and learn from the Zoo team about how he stays happy and healthy!

12:00 pm – Foxes and the Food Web
Does a fly matter to a fox? We’ll read a story about the secret life of the red fox, then discover how a fox’s diet is part of a larger system of woodland creatures (and plants!), great and small.

1:00 pm – Fox Enrichment: Food and Fun
Foxes need food and shelter, but just like humans, they also have to play and learn! Explore the ways we keep our animals’ minds sharp, then use your vulpine skills to hunt for hidden treasure.

2:00 pm – Fox Chat
Get up close and personal with Socks, the EcoTarium’s resident red fox, and learn from the Zoo team about how he stays happy and healthy!

3:00 pm – Animal Adaptations: Fantastic Fox Edition
What big ears you have! And what vertical pupils! Get hands-on with our biofacts, and learn about the cat-like and dog-like adaptations that allow foxes to thrive in their environments.
