Curator’s Workshop
The Curator’s Workshop is a hands-on space where visitors can recreate the experience of being a museum curator at the EcoTarium during its founding years in the 1820s. Sit in the antique high back chair at the roll-top desk and select specimens from our collection to add to your own miniature exhibit.
This “Yes, Please Touch!” space gives visitors a chance to handle real seashells, gems, fossils, and bones. If you want to know what a fossil fern feels like, or how heavy a horse’s skull is, this is a great place to find out. It’s OK if you don’t know what you’re looking at – a resident expert will be available to provide information!
This is a staffed exhibit area and may be closed during your visit. Inquire with the Information Desk about open hours.
