Explore the far reaches of the universe in our planetarium. Embrace your inner astronomer as you discover what lies beyond Earth's atmosphere and be inspired by the breathtaking visuals and state-of-the-art graphics.

Explorer Express Train

Take a trip around the museum grounds and enjoy a scenic 12-minute open-air passenger car ride on our replica 1863 C.P. Huntington steam locomotive. Be transported in time during a relaxing and beautiful way to see the museum grounds.

Otter Encounters

Enjoy this opportunity to get up close to our otters and feed them their favorite foods. These animals will also demonstrate their training skills. Our EcoTarium Animal Keepers will provide an overview of the natural history of North American River Otters.

Note: We have suspended Otter Encounters for the remainder of 2025 in order to give our otters a break from programming. Thank you for your understanding.

Speaker Series: Astrophysics

Join a local astronomy expert in the Alden Planetarium and dive into the latest discoveries in the grandest science of all. Every month, a researcher from the Worcester area will come to the EcoTarium to discuss their work - everything from Martian water to astrophotography and from community science to space telescopes.
