Worcester, MA, October 1, 2024 – Shaun the Sheep™: Flock This Way!, an interactive exhibit based on the popular film and television character, recently opened at the EcoTarium with a ribbon cutting ceremony on September 14, 2024.  Guests of honor included Mayor Joe Petty, and District 2 City Councilor Candy Mero-Carlson. This brand new exhibit, created by Minnesota Children’s Museum in partnership with Aardman, runs through January 2025. 

The EcoTarium is excited to bring this internationally beloved character to the Central Massachusetts Community. Director of Education and Exhibits at the EcoTarium Katie Chappell shared, “It’s been such a joy to watch families interact with the Shaun the Sheep exhibit. Seeing the smiles on kids’ faces as they navigate the farm, solve puzzles, and dive into hands-on activities truly captures the spirit of what the EcoTarium is all about — blending fun with learning. We’re thrilled to bring such a beloved character to our community and can’t wait to see how it inspires creativity and problem-solving in our young visitors.”

In this hands-on exhibit, visitors explore the antics of Shaun the Sheep and his pals on Mossy Bottom Farm. Designed for children ages 3 through 9, Shaun the Sheep™: Flock This Way! builds on problem-solving themes in fun, engaging ways. Exhibit components and activities encourage children to playfully explore themes around problem-solving and resilience in a safe and lighthearted manner and aims to make the problem-solving process explicit. 

Exhibit Highlights

• Get busy in the barn by hopping on balance boards, traversing the wall and balancing on tires
• Throw on your favorite “championsheep” inspired costume
• Figure out the rules of the farm to fill the farmhouse windows
• Mix up Bitzer’s face to create new facial expressions
• Rescue one of the flock who’s stuck in the top of a tree
• Create a stop motion animation using items from the scrap heap
• Hop into a truck and pretend to drive to the village
• Grab a sheep seat and cozy up to read a book
